Paper vs. Vinyl vs. Transparent — A Practical Guide

Most customers aren’t sure which material to pick. Here’s the plain answer:

Quick rule: If the sticker touches water or goes outdoors, get vinyl. If it’s on a box or envelope that stays dry, paper is fine and cheaper. If you want the surface to show through (like a glass jar or clear bottle), go transparent.

Die-Cut Stickers: What They Are and Why They Cost More

A die-cut sticker is cut to the exact shape of your design. Not a rectangle with your logo in the middle — but the actual outline of your logo as the sticker edge. It looks professional because there’s no wasted white border around the design.

They cost more than standard rectangle labels because we need to create a custom cutting template (called a die) for each design. First order costs a bit more for the die setup, but reorders are cheaper because the die is already made. If you’re ordering 500+ stickers, the die setup cost becomes negligible per piece.

How to Get the Best Results from Your Sticker Order

• Send high-resolution files. 300 DPI at actual print size. A logo that looks fine on your website at 72 DPI will look blurry printed at 3 inches. Send vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) if you have them — they scale perfectly.
• Include bleed area. Extend your design 2mm past the cut line. This prevents white edges from slight cutting variations.
• Specify the surface. Is this going on a curved bottle, a flat box, or a glass jar? We adjust the adhesive type and material flexibility accordingly.
• Test small first. Ordering 5,000 stickers? Start with 50. Test them on your actual product. Check how the label looks, how the adhesive holds, how it handles your storage temperature. Then order the full batch.
• For food labels: Send us your FSSAI number, ingredient list, and nutritional info. We’ll lay it out according to FSSAI formatting guidelines. We’ve done hundreds of food labels — we know the requirements.
